Arméhistoria 5:
Fireforges oathkeepers (Dwarfs)

Had he not been a runesmith of such renown of skill and wisdom, the king of Karak Hirn would certainly have had refused Darik Fireforges demands of raising an army to go off in search of some ancient scroll. Especially since it all started with some vivid dreams that left such a impression on Darik that he started to search for information in the most holy and old of books that the record keepers in Karak Hirn had. Even after showing the tales of old about a scroll of immense power the King did not give in until the runelord swore a most dire oath to recover the scroll or shave his head in shame.

Some of the stout dwarfs the runelord brought with him (or who joined anyway):

Gorim And Loki Stormbeard, brothers and acolytes in the order of the Anvil. Sworn protectors of the Anvil Tar-Antak.
Baldur Ranulfsson, 4th son to the king of Karak-hirn himself Alrik Ranulfsson. Was sent by his father to at all cost bring back the ancient anvil Tar-Antak that Darik Fireforge insisted was needed to make the campaign a success, should the runelord fail in his undertaking.
Forge Keepers, a company of apprentice runesmith sent as honour guard to Karak Hirns most prices possession, The anvil Tar-Antak. Led by Ymge Flint, a grizzly veteran of many wars.
Fireforges Shield, brave clansmen of the Fireforge clan that volunteered to join the campaign, after Darik held a clan meeting to explain his mysterious dreams, led by Ruben Fireforge.

Many of the young warriors frowned at an expedition with such lofty goal as to find a ancient scroll. But for the old elite formation named Whitebeards for there exceptional long beard, there was no such hesitation – as many of them was old enough to have heard there great-grandfathers telling the story of the Scroll of Kingship.
Among them were Olaf Stoneage,
an immensely old dwarf famous for his steadfastness. It is said his disapproving frown once stopped the entire left flank from panicking at the battle of the 100 hills when they got attacked from two direction by demons.

The Dirty Digglers workforce was not part of the Kings army, but after picking up a rumour in the local pub that the ancient scroll of power actually was a ancient scroll of potence, the Dirty Digglers volunteered to join. In fact they was told that they couldn't come since only battle hardened soldiers was needed, but so strong was the allure of the potence scroll they joined up with the marching army anyway two days march from the Hold.

(Borq "Dirty" Diggler, the owner of the Diggler mining corporation, is probably the only dwarf ever to have two wives. This in a world where only very few have a wife at all. It is all because of a binding oath made in front a statue of Grungni to his dying brother Karl that he should take Karl's wife Brunhilde Hotbuns as his own should the brother die. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you see it, he forgot that he was already promised to wed a young wench by the name Rosella RideIron.)

Ol Griller is driven by "Crazy" Ivan Buzzkill, hired from Dariks private coffers to be the army's eyes in the sky. Unfortunately Ivan is afraid of heights and usually skims just above the ground and there for is of limited use in the scouting roll. But on the other hand has Ivan developed some serious flying skills and is famous for his skills with the steam-cannon and will be a much needed asset in any upcoming battles.
